Pamela Marshall Barrell’s artistic talents express in evocative watercolour originals, the scenes Trollope may have seen and remembered – images impressed on his own eyes – in many of the locations he occupied and the places he visited. With imagination there are also watercolour paintings of the places Trollope imagined, described, and wrote about in his compelling stories. In all, 74 original watercolours are reproduced in the book.
