Late Victorian Cambridge was a very unruly place, and the undergraduates could sometimes seem beyond any sort of control. This talk is about a series of enormous celebratory bonfires the students lit in Cambridge's market place and their part in a great battle for control of the city's streets.
Expert tour guides will be taking NVS members on a walking tour of Cambridge on selected dates. The walks will be on Tuesdays after the talk ends and last around an hour. Members will be told which dates and where to meet in the newsletter.
This event is for registered NVS members only!
