Newcomers and Visiting Scholars

Most people think of a nun's life as being one of quiet contemplation and withdrawal from the world. Gemma Simmonds, whose cousin was a founder member of the Rolling Stones, was an unlikely candidate for such a life. In her 4 decades of religious life she has travelled the world, been hijacked at gunpoint, lived in a Brazilian favela, worked in slums and palaces, met paupers, pop stars, international criminals and great saints and had far more fun than she ever imagined possible.
