Newcomers and Visiting Scholars

Come along and join us for coffee, biscuits and a chance to meet fellow newcomers to Cambridge and listen to our wide array of speakers.

This week's talk will be given by Bridgett Kendall

Bridget Kendall began life as a Cambridge schoolgirl with no inkling that her choice to take up studying Russian at the age of 14 would lead her on an extraordinary journey, first as a Western student living and studying in the Soviet provinces, then as a BBC correspondent sent to Moscow just as the Soviet Union was about to collapse, then as Washington correspondent in the Clinton years, and then covering the 9/11 crisis and its aftermath as BBC Diplomatic correspondent and also tracking Putin’s Russia. In 2016 she changed course again to become the first female Master of Cambridge’s oldest college, Peterhouse. She shares with us some of the milestones of her career.
