Newcomers and Visiting Scholars

Meditation and mindfulness techniques can help reduce stress, improve wellbeing, and bring focus. It just takes a little patience and gentle effort over a period of time to develop them and build understanding of one's mind and feelings. While the initial benefits can be felt quite quickly; the greater benefits accrue later. This is why the course is a series of eight weekly one-hour sessions. By the end, you will have built a solid foundation in structured methods, which you can choose to practice alone or develop further in follow-on classes. The classes are for everyone and do not require participants to have prior experience or to sit on the floor.

Philip Guildford, Judge Business School, will lead the sessions. Philip has over 25 years of experience of meditation. He started teaching as a volunteer when we went into lockdown in 2020. He is keen to share freely the techniques which he has found helpful with NVS members.
