The NVS quilt is a vibrant international project celebrating community, creativity, and shared experience. Coordinated by Janet Edwards and Andrea Bronskill, it was completed in 2016 and brings together 94 embroidered squares created by 71 women from over 28 countries.
Each participant designed a square reflecting something meaningful to them—ranging from national symbols and flowers to images inspired by Cambridge. Many of the pieces were created through NVS craft groups and sewing sessions, highlighting the strong collaborative spirit at the heart of the project.
Inspired by the historic Masters’ Wives’ Quilt of 1892, the NVS quilt continues this tradition of storytelling through textiles, while showcasing the diversity and connections of the modern NVS community.
More details, including images of all the squares and acknowledgements, can be found in the accompanying booklet.
